With all the turmoil going on in the world right now, we wanted to remind you of something;

Zero-waste perfection does not exist. Frankly, it isn’t even worth striving for.

The fact is, if you are trying - that’s right, all I said was ‘trying’ - you are doing perfect.

Zero waste living is not feasible all of the time. But that's not the point. The focus needs to shift towards what you can, and have done. Every choice you make, every decision to live more mindfully, every action to reduce your footprint, is making an impact. It all matters.

zero waste, living

Going perfectly ‘zero-waste’ is impossible. On top of that, factors such as ones geographical location, medical history, or financial situation can make access to zero-waste resources disproportionately trickier. Living low waste can often be more expensive, a bigger time investment, and a lifestyle change that not all of us can commit too. We like to think that living sustainably is about making the responsible choice whenever you can.

At the end of the day, it is no secret that large corporate companies are unleashing a vast majority of the pollution that threatens our ecosystems and warms our planet, ultimately passing the responsibility onto the consumer to “make the right choice”. At some point in every single person's sustainability journey, there will come a time when you encounter thoughts like "what does my individual choice matter?". We’ve all been there.

However, every single person who is living their best eco-friendly life and is outspoken about it, has an impact on someone. That person then inspires someone else, and so on. We are always planting seeds in those around us. Eventually this exponential wave of compassion and dedication to global health and equity will lead to a movement so powerful that it cannot be ignored.

Balancing personal waste consumption and environmental advocacy is situational. As is the ‘’zero-waste’’ movement in its entirety. Whatever balance you are able to strike, and however you think you'll make the most impact, is the right choice for you.

Adhering to strict rules can be limiting and makes a sustainable lifestyle seem unattainable and difficult. In reality, everyone's journey is unique because it is tailored to YOU.

There are no strict rules when it comes to loving on the earth.

Keep on keeping on. <3
